This Ballesteros design, his first in Spain, is firm proof that golf in Andaluc€a is spreading westwards. Lying along the Atlantic coastline near Chiclana and Jerez the course faces four kilometres of virgin beach adjacent to the spectacular Royal Andalus Golf Hotel. An American style layout it is long and spacious, four lakes provide hazards at eight holes and with over one thousand trees it is not short of shade. Novo Sancti Petri, boasting that Severiano knew what he was doing, forms 3 loops of nine holes, starting and finishing at the clubhouse. With a wide variety of sporting facilities including horseriding, football and tennis, the club is very popular and has played host to the 1990 Codorni€ Spanish Professional Championship won by Santiago Luna, and the 1993 Turespa€a Masters Open de Andaluc€a won by Andrew Oldcorn.
